"Authentic Interest" refers to those special interests held by an Author. An author is a creator.
A behavioral mechanism cannot create anything. The term "Author" implicates the possibility of conscious creation, or origination, or causation. So, Authentic Interests exclude those interests that operate as behavioral mechanisms, or that reinforce such mechanisms.
"School" is thus a venue where Authentic Interests are assessed and nurtured, as differentiated from those interests that have been attributed to an individual by virtue of training, indoctrination, enculturation, or mental/emotional colonization, for instance.
